Artists at Work
What is it all about?
Art Partners is an exciting program that promotes the use of the arts to channel energy into positive behavior in young people. Art can change attitudes, build self-esteem and redirect paths in a positive direction.

Who can be an Art Intern?
Area youth between the ages of 12 and 17 who have an interest in advancing their abilities in art can qualify for the program. They must be willing to make a one-year commitment with the understanding that they may change artist mentors every three months if they so choose.
Who can be an Art Mentor?
Learn the Art of Riding and Caring
Any adult who feels they have a skill to share and the desire to create a positive difference in the life of a young person. You can offer the gift of your time and talents in a field of mutual interest with a young person. As an artist YOU know the gratification gained in creating. Imagine bringing about this same feeling in a young person who needs a boost at a critical time in their life.
What will it cost me?
Artist Mentor and intern with First Painting
Your cost will be your expertise, enthusiasm for your craft, and three hours a week for twelve weeks. The Art Partner program will furnish art supplies for the youth.
What is the Annual Art Partners Exhibition?
The Annual Art Partners Exhibition is an art show held in Delta, Montrose or Ouray Counties. All artists are invited to enter up to four works in the show. There is no entry fee and all proceeds from the sale of work go directly to the artists, less gallery fees. Each show is extensively publicized and will have an opening reception.
